The unique Salève climb is part of the 2022 Mountain Challenge
This is a first in the history of the event. On Saturday April 9, 2022, the traditional format of the Ultra Montée du Salève will not be organized. It will be replaced by an unique climb.
Indeed, due to the construction of the Salève cable car, the format proposing to the participants to climb the Salève mountain as many times as possible during the 6 hours of the race (the descents being done by cable car) will be replaced by an unique ascent. The course remains the same as in previous years, namely an effort of 3.2km for 663m of positive elevation gain, leading the bipeds from the lower station to the upper station of the Salève cable car.
For the first time in the history of the event, the organizers, Athlé St-Julien 74, were pleased to learn that their race was included in the “Challenge Montagne 2022”, proof of the attractive profile and quality of the organization. Sponsored by Running Conseil, the latter offers 11 dates to runners from Haute-Savoie.
For its 40th edition, the challenge will start on March 27th in Lyaud with the Lyaud Trail and will end on September 25th in Musièges with the Trail de Musièges. The unique Salève climb will be the third event.
