The unique Mont Salève ascent 2022 : registrations launched on February 1st

Due to the pandemic, the Ultra Montée du Salève has been moved to October 2020 and then to June 2021, instead of being held on the second Saturday of April as every year since 2010. For the 3rd consecutive year, the event will not take place as “normal” because of the work currently being carried out at the Salève cable car ; the gondolas are unavailable.

Nevertheless, wishing to keep a link with its faithful competitors, partners and volunteers, the organizers have not given up and have revised the race format. For this 2022 edition, the Ultra Montée du Salève becomes a “one-shot” ascent of the Mont Salève. in other words, a unique ascent will be proposed, via the usual Pas de l’Echelle path, i.e. an effort of 3.2km for 663m of positive difference in altitude from the lower station to the upper station of the Salève Cable Car.

This alternative race format is already attracting interest from runners. “A single dry climb corresponds to a different type of runner. To hope to win, you need to have a rather light and explosive profile. I am delighted to be at the start of this beautiful organization,” says Thomas, a regular runner in the Salève.

The registrations have been launched on the 1st of February.
